We took inspiration from Hamburg’s maritime connection and named our second Edge site in Germany, EDGE HafenCity – harbour city. Hamburg is the biggest city in Northern Germany, with thriving economic clusters like healthcare, media, IT and renewable energy. Hamburg is the ideal city to locate your business, with a vibrant cultural scene; EDGE HafenCity is open to its surroundings for people to work, meet and collaborate. EDGE HafenCity will be a unique building that stands out in its surroundings with its cantilevered tower. The terraced levels, the deep arcades open to the square and the central atrium all ensure transparency, flexibility and communication.
With the relocation of our fast-growing office to EDGE Stadium, a building that scores so highly in sustainability and wellbeing, we underline our ambition to jointly maximise the business community’s contribution to a sustainable future. {…} One of the aspects that we like best is the expected energy savings of around 70% compared to the previous office building on this particular spot.

Inside the building, the central atrium of EDGE HafenCity has a staircase to reach various areas and offices to encourage physical activity and stimulate chance encounters. The building will fully embrace the WELL Concept to prioritise people’s wellbeing. Moreover, the future is now with our digital communication infrastructure that is state-of-the-art, fully integrated and connected. Our smart building app lets everyone personalise the workplace by controlling lights, temperature and window blinds. Our community team will manage our site to ensure the power of personal connections. The Edge community managers are friendly and hospitable and know how to make everyone’s work life smoother
We are taking it to the next level. We will have a little universe for ourselves where we can share feedback and communicate more openly as a team. Without having to worry about security or disturbing other coworkers around us. Moving from the coworking space to our private studio means we can be more flexible with customer calls.

What to expect at EDGE HafenCity
EDGE HafenCity is the second Edge building in Germany, following EDGE Grand Central in Berlin. The 16-floor building takes inspiration from the historic HafenCity and creates something new in the Elbbrücken Innovation Quarter. As the name suggests, the area fosters innovation and entrepreneurship and is a hub for tech startups, creative industries and forward-thinking businesses; thus, Edge chose Hamburg as its second site in Germany after recently opening in Berlin. The Elbbrücken Innovation Quarter is a great fit as an area designed as a mixed-use development with offices, residential homes, retail and cultural venues. This lively area is situated along the Elbe River in the eastern part of Hamburg, adjacent to the historic Speicherstadt district and within easy reach of the city centre. EDGE Hafencity is prominently located on the impressive Amerigo-Vespucci-Platz and adjacent to the Baakenhafen basin. Our building has a roof terrace with spectacular views, a restaurant, and a playground to encourage physical exercise. Inside this SMART-operated building, we offer all the room for companies big and small to meet, interact, and positively impact the future. First and foremost, our team can come on the days that are more convenient for them to get some work done or to meet with their colleagues. But it is also important for us as a company to fit our needs based on our growth and team requirements. As an international remote-first company, we occasionally host large meetings with colleagues travelling worldwide. At the same time, we can also have a few months with no visitors at all.
